Taking the first step can be hard, as well as finding the best place to get the help you desire and need. Finding a therapy experience that you can plant yourself in can be just the support you need to get through all of life’s curve balls. Check out the following faqs to see if Bloom is the place for you!.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The first step is to complete a contact form and either wait for a phone call or use the link sent in the follow up message to schedule a call. During the call it will be determined if it’s a good match, looking at logistics such as availability, insurance/payment and level of need. If everything aligns, then you will be sent a link to create your simple practice account. Here you will compete intake paperwork and see your scheduled appointment.

  • Yes, certain insurance is accepted including:

    Blue Cross Blue Shield

    Blue Care Network.

    Other insurance plans are unfortunately not accepted. If you plan to use insurance you can call the number on the back of the insurance card and ask what your out of pocket costs will be for “outpatient psychotherapy”. I will also check into your insurance so that you are aware of costs before you begin therapy.

  • Without insurance a 60 minute individual session is $100.

    Intensive therapy (or extended therapy) is an out of pocket service, costing $200 per 110 minute session.

    Bloom also offers a few slots at a discounted rate called a sliding scale fee for those who meet the low income guidelines.  To see if you qualify for sliding scale fee, you will be asked to complete a form indicating how much your yearly income is and household size. Rates can be as low as $40 per 45 minute session. Please inquire about sliding scale if you think you could qualify..

  • Yes in-person therapy is offered in Westland Mi on a limited basis at this time. In-person therapy is a great option for people in the surrounding area, who do not have reliable internet, or a place to talk freely. This can also be great for those needing to find a moment to get out of the house.

    However virtual/online therapy can be a great option! It has been found that the comfort of one’s home aids in the comfortability in therapy sessions. Virtual therapy can also be great for those who have limited time to get to the office, who is not near the Westland, Mi area, or may find it hard to leave home but really need the support.

  • If you are looking for a place to truly show up as yourself, process things out loud without fear of sounding perfect, to be gently pushed through thought provoking questions; then Bloom is the right fit for you. No matter who you are, where you’ve came from or what you’ve been through, if you’re ready for change and growth this is the place for you! Bloom is also a great place for people looking for another chance at therapy. Due to therapy being collaborative in nature, you’ll find that you’re being met exactly where you are at.

  • Once you become a client, you will be invited to create an account on simple practice. This can be accessed as a website or you can download the app. At the top of this page you will see “client portal”, you can always click that if you have trouble finding it.

  • If you can’t make your appointment you can cancel it a few different ways: use the app to cancel or reschedule your appointment, use the app chat feature to inform of cancellation, or call if it is last minute.

    Please note, cancellations should be done 24 hrs before the appointment time. There will be an exception for the first time canceling late or if it’s due to a last minute emergency. After this you will incur a $30 fee that will need to be paid before rescheduling another appointment. There will also be no guarantee that the same day/time will be available to reschedule for. Several late cancellations can result in being placed on a waitlist until there’s an opening. More than 2 no-shows will unfortunately prevent services from continuing.

  • A Christian service is based on the love for God and love for others, reflecting the example of Jesus. Bloom’s values are rooted in Christian values such as honesty, integrity, compassion, humility, justice and service.

    Our services at Bloom incorporate Christian counseling for those who would like to use their faith as a guiding principle in sessions. But if you are not Christian you are still welcome to receive services. Bloom takes pride in having an inviting atmosphere that makes any and everyone welcome. Using the contact form, submit your information for a free consultation. This is where you will be able to see if Bloom Mental Health is the right fit for you! You’ll talk about your current concerns, availability for therapy, and plans for payment. You can also ask questions.

Intake Paperwork

Begin Therapy!

If you decide to move forward, you will receive an email to set up your therapy account. This is where you will complete all intake paperwork, schedule appointments and communicate with your therapist. If using insurance, you will also need to upload it for verification before therapy can begin.

Once all paperwork is completed, you will have your first therapy appointment! During the first appointment, an evaluation is conducted and important information is gathered. This is to determine what your concerns and needs are. After this, you will schedule your weekly/bi-weekly sessions!
